URL Change… Again!

Well… I did it to you again. I went and changed my url. This one wasn’t so drastic… I just got rid of the “/blog”. The final address to this haven is now http://www.arandomact.com. I promise not to change it again for a very long time. For those of you who absolutely refuse to update your links…. I have kindly put a redirect in for you to get you to the right spot. Any questions??? Have a nice day.

Image Troubles

You may or may not have noticed that my Gallery is down. I seem to be having troubles getting PerlMagick installed on this new server of mine. If any of you out there are linux experts and know how to install PerlMagick flawlessly, let me know. I would love to get my gallery working again.

Informal Poll

So now that I have my own domain (http://www.arandomact.com) what should I do with it. So far I have this blog, but I feel as though I need more. I’m not sure what, so I am asking you guys what you think…. should I skip “more” all together and just make my blog my main site, or should I do something more with this. I’m not really sure what I am looking for as an answer. I just feel like I need to concentrate on rounding out this site with more stuff. Let me know what you think.

A New Home

Well I’ve finally moved my blog to its new permanent home. http://www.arandomact.com/blog is the new address, so if by chance you are one of the crazies ones that has me in their blogroll or bookmarked, then please adjust accordingly. I did set up a redirect on my old webserver, so the old address will still work for a little while. Now I get to look forward to making a bunch of changes in all of the directories I’ve submitted to. Oh well, change is fun right? Anyway, hopefully I’ll start being a little more active here. I know I must be boring most of you, but then again, I think there is only 3 or 4 of you out their anyway.

New Gallery

Well I’m playing with a new MovableType plugin called PhotoGallery. So I’ve added a new menu to my menu-bar up top. Right now it doesn’t contain much since I’m just testing it out. But so far I think it looks like it will be usable. Now I just need to start getting some photos on here…

Skoobie Closed

I know this breaks everyones heart, but Skoobie shut down so I removed it and went back to my standard search tool. Skoobie was an experiment, apparently a failed experiment. Oh well, no hair off my back I think I only made like $1.25 from it and now it looks like I won’t even get paid that. It’s not like I was trying to make money off this site. It was just a “why not” thing. Anyway…. moving on….

New Site

Well I went ahead and switched my site over to some new templates I designed. So far I like the look. I’m still probably going to do some tweaking, but this will be the basic flow. If you don’t remember what the old style looked like you can find it over here. Please feel free to leave comments and tell me what you like and don’t like. I’m particularly happy with the drop-down menus at the top. They took a little work (You can read all about it here), but I think they are cool.

Menu Bar

I’m messing around with a menu bar across the top of my main page. Tell me what you think as I go. It is in the rough stages right now, but it is functional. I’m thinking of cleaning up some of my side bars to get rid of some clutter and this would be a way to handle that. I got the ideas for the dropdown menus from Michael Hanscom who pointed to an article written by Peter. I then finally ended up at Suckerfish Dropdowns: A List Apart.

Thanks to all the guys out there helping us, new to CSS folk, figure out the hard stuff. Hopefully someday I can contribute as much as you.
