Introducing Teach This!
I finally convinced my wife to start up a blog: Teach This!
My wife is a teacher and has many opinions on the matter and I’m sure her blog will be a very interesting read to many. So check it out sometime.
Wired Magazine: ‘Digg Just Might Bury Slashdot’
“A news-oriented bookmarking site called Digg is giving Slashdot a run for its money. Indeed, a good “Diggdotting” is melting down servers all over the net.”
I just started using Digg. It’s a pretty cool service, you should check it out sometime.
AOL adding AIM Bots to your buddy list
I signed on to AIM today and got a message from AOL saying they had added a new group to my buddy list for AIM bots and had added 2 bots for me. Thanks AOL, but if I wanted them I could have added them myself.
Luckily they were able to be deleted just about as fast as they were added. But it would have been nice to be asked about this first.
Lost Theories
The topic of Lost is starting to heat up with everyone coming up with there own theories as to what is going on. Jon over at chuggnutt.com just wrote a long post about what makes of what is going on in the show. From what I read, some of his ideas seem to make a lot of sense.
Its been a while since a show has captured my attention like this one. It makes you think. I find myself trying to come up with my own theories of whats happening. Is the island some big social experiment? Why was there a quarantine sticker on the inside of the hatch door? What are your theories?
In desperate need of car advice
Ok.. maybe not desperate, but I need help making a decision. The funny part is, I don’t know yet know that either decision is achievable. As some of you may know, I just bought a new van back in June, for my wife. She had been driving our Expedition and I was driving our old 1994 Plymouth Voyager (please refrain from jokes). Well, now I have the Expedition and am wanting to trade it in on something else. That something else is where I am having a problem.
The practical side of me says that I should be looking at buying a truck (for some reason a Ford truck is what I am hooked on). But the “not-quite-mid-life-crisis” side of me can’t help but REALLY WANT a new(er) Mustang.
Now I already own a ’65 Mustang, but I’ve got a craving for a more modern pony. Something of the GT caliber. But this is where the more practical side kicks back in and says, “You’ve already got your Mustang, it just needs some love, go and get a truck.”
My wife wants me to get a truck for a few reasons:
- A truck can fit all of our family
- It would be very nice to be able to haul stuff without borrowing.
- Trucks are better suited to take camping (don’t want to take the new van)
- Did I mention they can fit our family
- …. I’m sure there’s more
I’ve heard, understand, and completely agree with a lot of these reasons, but I still can’t seem to shake this want that I have. So now I ask you, my valuable readers, for any and all advice you may have regarding this situation. If you were posed this same question: Truck or Mustang? What would you do?
Back to civilization
I’m back.. didja miss me? Didn’t know I was gone? Well I was. I went camping on Thursday and returned home yesterday (Sunday). So I haven’t posted for a few days. I’m still catching up on reading all of the blogs I watch so don’t expect anything epic out of me today… not that anything “epic” ever happens here anyway. Although my last post seemed to spark a small, yet heated discussion between husband and wife. Ok.. it wasn’t heated, but it was funny never-the-less.
Camping was good… didn’t do much. But what are you supposed to do when you camp, relax, right? I went fishing four times and managed to catch zero fish. But I can chalk that one up to the time in the season (basically planting was over August 1st according to some sources). Of course some would argue that I caught a goose-egg because of my lack of fishing experience. They may be right, but I’m still going to stick to my excuse.. err, I mean, reason.
Anywho… I could ramble on for a while and that may actually be what some people want, but I’m going to once again disappoint you all and shadddup.
top100bloggers.com
Hey I just added my blog to the list over at Top100Bloggers.com. Help me get to number 1 by clicking on the link in my side bar or in this post and selecting “Yes”. Unfortunately you won’t get anything special for complying and I’m pretty sure I don’t get anything for being #1, but I think it would be fun to see how many votes it would take to get me there.
Hot Day
Looks like the Salem/Keizer area is in for a hot day today. According to Weather.com we are expected to reach 99° F this afternoon. It seems like just a week ago I was wondering where are summer was. As it turns out, it is this week.
Have fun and keep cool.
Book Quiz

You’re Prufrock and Other Observations!
by T.S. Eliot
Though you are very short and often overshadowed, your voice is poetic
and lyrical. Dark and brooding, you see the world as a hopeless effort of people trying
to impress other people. Though you make reference to almost everything, you’ve really
heard enough about Michelangelo. You measure out your life with coffee spoons.
