Comfort Suites Raising Prices

Imagine you have just been ordered to evacuate your city because of a deadly hurricane rushing into the area. This probably is a very unsettling situation.

Well, let’s take it a step further.

Now, imagine showing up at a hotel who’s normal rate for a room is $79/night, but due to the hurricane, is now charging $200/night. What do you do? Walk away with no where else to go? Or pay the outrageously inflated prices.

Well this is exactly what happened at a Comfort Suites in Baytown, TX. They raised their rates to “discourage rowdy people from staying there.” I don’t know about you, but I don’t care what their reason was, this is PRICE-GOUGING and that is illegal in my book. I hope the Texas Attorney General comes down hard on that hotel. They should be ashamed for what they are doing in the wake of this disaster.
