Missed Katrina by a month

It wasn’t much more than a month ago that I was in New Orleans at the IFT trade show. At that time I was worried a little about hurricane Dennis. Apparently, Katrina is the one I’m glad I missed.
Eighty percent of New Orleans is, currently, under 6-20ft of water according to CNN.com. I couldn’t even imagine what residents are feeling right now in that part of the country.
I’ll take Oregon’s rainy weather over the possibility of something with that much destructive force coming around my home, any day.
