Here is a great waste of time. How long can you last?
edit: I lasted 19.501 seconds.
So I never thought there would be a January where I complained about the heat. But this is such a January. Its not necessarily “overly” hot outside, but because our office has such big windows right near my desk, we heat up like a pressure cooker. You’d think that air conditioning should take care of this, but so far it hasn’t. The bigger problem is what is going to happen in the summertime when it is 90 degrees outside.
Anyway… class is over, calendar is changed and I guess I’ll begin posting again. If you don’t understand this statement, read the comments.
Well I started my .Net training today. Not much to post about, basically got a general overview of the framework and what value and reference types are and a little about reflection. Nothing too new. All in all it was a good introduction, not candy coated, MS sales promo stuff. So, for that, I am thankful.
If anything interesting crops up this week. I’ll keep you posted. But, as I have been the past few weeks, I may be a little incognito.
Check you on the flip side.
So EA is pitching a new reality show based on “The Sims”. Just think, soon you will be able to tell Betty Sue to punch Billy Bob in the nose and see it all live on TV. Hmmm…. wonder if this is a good idea.

Anyone out there know how to create a hierarchical grid report with n columns and n levels of hierarchy?
I’m sure I’m not the first one to ever try and do this, but as I’ve often found, when I try to look for an example of this, I can’t find anything. Maybe there are some Crystal Reports gurus out there who happen to stop by every once in a while. If so, let me know if you have any thoughts on this problem.
Have you ever had one of those days where you feel like you’re running 100 mph and you’re not getting anywhere?
Neither have I. But its dang busy today.
In an ongoing effort to thwart the rising influx of comment spam, I have installed Spam Karma. Hopefully this plugin makes my need to moderate less. The built-in comment spam tools in WordPress are lacking. I had to basically delete it myself. But this Spam Karma looks to be more promising.
I’ll let you know.
Well as some of you may have noticed. Some of my sites were/are down. My server was compromised by a phpBB exploit. I’ve temporarily killed all the sites that were using phpBB and I’m looking into upgrading them to “plug the hole”. Let me tell you though, that was frantic 2 hours yesterday when I was trying to figure out what was going on. But now that that is behind me for the most part. I can breathe a little.
Anyway… got some work to do.
Whew… boy is it tiring coming back to work after a week and a half off. I had approximately 970 emails to wade through. Of course about 960 of them were spam. Those went by fairly quick (about as fast as I could hit the delete button).
Then I had the bigger issues to take care of, such as some installations that needed repaired. Got those done, but they took a while.
Anyway.. not going to bore you with the details, but I thought I would mention that I am back at work now. So I should be getting some posting in the next few days. But I’m not promising anything. Sometimes I’m just not inspired enough to write.
