Yahoo Beefs up Free Service

Well I logged into my Yahoo! Mail account today and found a little note from Yahoo! mentioning that they were increasing my service, from the 10 mb of storage up to 100 mb of storage. I wonder if this is in retaliation to the upcoming Google GMail service that will be giving user 1gb of storage. Of course it is simple math to figure out Yahoo! is a little short on their game. But it is a step in the right direction. Maybe this is just a test to see if they can handle bumping up to 1gb like their rival.

Other Peoples Website

It is amazing to me what some people pay for when it comes to websites. For those of you who don’t know, I’m trying to start a web hosting and design business, SliverNet: Web Hosting and Design. We’ve (we being, my partners and I) have been talking with potential customers and finding out what their needs are and seeing what they already pay for, and I am just amazed at the shody work some people pay for. But of course, I can’t just come out and tell these potential customers, “You are paying for that”, because I may offend them. But there are many situations where I would like to. I’d throw up some examples here, but I don’t think that would be ethical. But, some types of things I am seeing are: FRAMES, cheesy color schemes, IE ONLY SUPPORT, and overall just really bad layouts and design. I’m hoping we can convince some of these people to, if not use our services, at least fire who is doing their work now.

We’ll see how it goes.
