Once again Yahoo is blocking the popular 3rd party IM client, Trillian. This seems to be a cycle that we go through a couple times a year; Yahoo blocks, Trillian patches, rinse, repeat. It seems Yahoo is the only hold out in IM inter-operability. At least that is my take on it. I wonder if they will ever give up, cause I know Trillian isn’t.

What is the point of blocking Trillian? Aside from angering a few Yahoo faithful I don’t see the point. I am more loyal to Trillian than I am to Yahoo. The only reason I use Yahoo IM is to communicate with my wife, who has MSN and AIM, and to crash The Murphy’s Trillian.
Yeah… Yahoo could quit working all together and I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.
