Pending Draft Legislation?!
May 24th, 2004
There is pending legislation in the House and Senate (twin bills: S 89 and HR 163) which will time the program’s initiation so the draft can begin at early as Spring 2005 — just after the 2004 presidential election. The administration is quietly trying to get these bills passed now, while the public’s attention is on the elections, so our action on this is needed immediately.
$28 million has been added to the 2004 Selective Service System (SSS) budget to prepare for a military draft that could start as early as June 15, 2005. Selective Service must report to Bush on March 31, 2005 that the system, which has lain dormant for decades, is ready for activation.

Yay for being too old to be eligible.
Oceania was at war with Eastasia: Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.
I suggest you read each before you pass judgment. http://www.congress.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c108:H.R.163: http://www.congress.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c108:S.89:
I am not advocating either bill rather I have found it is better to go to the source on issues such as congressional bills and resolutions. This way you have the actual text and can interpret it in your own way.
You can also, check out the status on each bill from each link above. However, I am not sure how often the statuses are updated.
No judgement being passed here…. just trying to keep the conversation flowin…. However… Bush is an Ass
Heh, I would probably amend that to Bush is a Dumbass.
i concurgree.
