MikeRoweSoft Follow-up

In a follow-up to and early post about MikeRoweSoft, Mike Rowe has settled with Microsoft in a dispute over his domain name “MikeRoweSoft.com”. Get this, he took an XBox and a tour as settlement. I’m glad he kindof won, but I was hoping he would stick it a little harder to the man.

  1. He got a whole lot more then that… MSDN, free xbox games, a free (all expenses paid) trip to so developers conference and a couple other things.

  2. Wonder if it’s a winnable battle.

What will happen? Will microsoft chase EVERY LAST SITE???

What about the men’s health site http://www.mygrowsoft.com ? That site is offering pharmaceutical affiliate programs for stuff like propecia. It’s also straight up selling viagra (I guess that’s where the ‘mygrowsoft’ idea comes from), valtrex and xenical.

Would microsoft go after them? What about all of the internationalized “microsofts” and the ones popping up on ebay for sale?

I don’t know… Seems like a vast issue that’s been created by our country’s own protection mechanism.
