It’s Snowing

This is probably nothing big deal to most out there, but when it snows in Salem, Oregon… it is news-worthy. I work up this morning to about 6 inches of the white stuff on the ground. At first, when I looked out my back window, I thought maybe I had left the light on, but on second glance, I figured out that there was a heck of a lot of snow out there. Needless to say I am pretty excited. I still had to go to work though because I have responsibilities to take care of, but that was part of the excitement because I got to drive my new 4WD for the first time in something that was 4-wheel-worthy. I must say it handled quite well; I passed many struggling 2WD vehicles. Anyway…. Just thought I would share my excitement with all of you….. now, back to our regularly scheduled programming……

  1. Random observation:

On my way to work, I saw three (3) in-a-bad-way vehicles. The first, an SUV, was on its side. The second, an SUV, was stuck in someone’s yard. The third, a minivan, was stuck off commercial.

My car, a 1992 Nissan Sentra, front-wheel drive, was just dandy. I love driving in the snow. Woo hoo!!

  2. Speaking of limericks…

Yep. A limerick about mad cow AND snow. Do it, Javaman, do it!!

  3. Ok… how the heck do you get snow in Salem and up here in Washington we get nothing… I swear the weather hates Seattle.

  4. I know isn’t it crazy… we never get snow. I just looked at weather.com and we are expected to get more over the next week or so.

  5. Where I live, in Manitoba, Canada, we can give an outright guarantee of a White Christmas.

Bing wouldn’t need to “dream” of such events if he ever wandered to where I live.

You are very fortunate to have no snow. When I lived in Central Florida (speaking of contrasts), there was no snow either.

I can’t say that in Manitoba!
